The building is part of the city walls of Rabat. And worth a look by itself. A bonus is the free Art Galerie within. You get to see the historical space and a nice collection of modern art. An excellent combination.

I stumbled upon this place while going for my morning walk and it is charming. A nice collection of thought provoking pieces. A small gallery, but worth the visit on your way to the Modern Art museum right up the street.

The art exhibit was okay, but the gate itself is a masterpiece of Islamic fortress architecture from the middle ages. Invaders would have to change direction four times after breraching the froint door to enter the city, being attacked from all sides.

Tinyplace, but it was an exquisite exhibition while we were there. They were still preparing the current exhibition but were kind enough to let us come in and look anyway. Yes it's very small, but the quality of the exhibit makes it worth the walk...More

The Galerie Bab Rouah is very small with a very limited amount of paintings, but the paintings that are displayed are extremely interesting. To see the whole gallery takes about a half-hour assuming you are stopping at each painting to enjoy it, but if you...More
