We visited Coin Berbere in search of several high-quality rugs for various rooms in our house, and ended up purchasing three different styles. Abdoul was very helpful and did not pressure us into our choices, and was a very fair negotiator. His selection was excellent and we couldn't be happier with what we bought. He matched our preferences perfectly and... More

The owner, Abdoul, was very welcoming and helpful in selecting a rug. Abdoul asked us about what kind of floor (e.g. hardwood, dark wood) the carpet would adorn. With this mental picture, as well as input on color (my favorite: blue), type (flat or with a little shag), and size, Abdoul took us to his showroom. He pulled out a... More

The carpets here are incredible and of good quality. I only wish I could afford more of them. The owner clearly knows a lot about the carpets and the history and didn't push me to buy too much ('only buy it if you love it') What I did buy he made me a very good deal for

Morocco inundates you with rugs. It's best to read a bit before coming so you have an idea what you like and what rugs come from where. That said, my sister and I (my sister more than me) have shopped for carpets all over the world. We are textile lovers. We were NOT in Amy disappointed by the selection of... More

Best selection of rugs! Wonderful low key atmosphere. Not aggressive. Very helpful. Very pleasant shopping experience. Far better selection than anywhere else in Fes we saw. Found a rug we love for a price we could afford.

We had a great experience. The owner was not overly pushy. Carpet was far better quality than anything we had seen. Highly recommend shopping here.

I have travelled around Morocco for some time, buying vintage and modern rugs from places that I know to be sources for ABC carpet in NY. I can say with full confidence that Coin Berber is the best source by far for genuine vintage rugs in the Fez area. The other stores in Fez sell generic modern machine made rugs... More

When anticipating my trip to Fes, I knew that I wanted a Berber rug - well, maybe just a short runner to hang on the wall as art. I also knew that rug buying in Morocco would be a stressful endeavor fraught with the pitfalls of the false guide, poor quality or just plain fake product. I almost abandoned the... More

We spent 21 days traveling all over Morocco. We were very excited to buy rugs and found it addicting to open up all the beautiful rugs and see the designs. Buying a rug can be very overwhelming, but our experience with Abdul at Coin Berbere was awesome. Not only was he professional, kind and willing to negotiate, he had very... More

Abdul is very knowledgeable and makes the process of picking out rugs very fun. Like any other place in Fez, you will be offered mint tea and be charmed by the salesman, but at Coin Berbere you will learn about rugs, the regions they come from and the craftsmanship behind each piece. The negotiating is low-key and not pushy. Above... More
