The shops all seemed to offer the same low-quality crafts you see in all the Moroccan shouks. The only saving grace was that it was fairly clean.

They still sell the same stuff, but it's a relaxed atmosphere with cleaner streets. You will see price to take a taxi back is much lower than going there. Olives are really nice, but hidden in a corner. We had a lovely orange juice next to the mosque

Morocco has a great number of Medinas and souks. The new medina in Casablanca is average and should only be visited if you are not going to Marrakech and Fez

It was the first medina we visited on our multi-city tour of Morocco. Though it was only a short stroll around the median, it opened our eyes and gave us a preview of what to expect for the rest of the trip. It is cleaner and more spacious than i expected. Worth a look but dont spend too much time... More

What fun rambling through the "New Medina" especially for a stop at the fish market. What a fantastic experience! Our group of seasoned travelers selected a variety of fish, squid, prones, shrimp and lobster from the venders. Then after the fish were cleaned, we proceeded to an area filled with outside tables with umbrellas surrounded by 5-6 food grilling establishments.... More

smaller than marrakesh but quirky and fun and not as expensive - good for Morrocain bargains - very easy to navigate round and not as closed in as Marrakesh but worth checking out.

The New Medina is known locally as 'Quartier des Habous', please note that many of the pictures shown on this listing on Trip Advisor are not of the Habous at all (I have added a few of the real one)! I wasn't expecting to like the Habous as I like the history and buzz of the ancient medinas of Morocco,... More
