It's that time of the year when the people pray in Casablanca. No clubs, no nightlife, no other tourist attraction. So probably the only place left was Hassan II mosque. No doubt it was a magnificent piece of artwork but it stays up to that. There are mosques not necessarily this big around the world but with a history. On... More

A beautiful mosque, well maintained, the only downside we must review the brightness of the atmosphere and lighting

Opened: August 30, 1993 The Hassan II Mosque is open to all Muslims at daily prayer times and for special Friday services. Non-Muslim visitors may enter the mosque on guided tours, which take place several times a day in English.

One of the many highlights of Casablanca is Hassan II mosque. It is truly a majestic monument, a beautiful mixture of Western architecture and Moroccan style (mosaics). We felt that the administration fee was a bit higher compared to other historical places we visited (120 MAD compared to 50-70 MAD) and the cost did not include a tour guide. Nonetheless,... More

A must see if in Casablanca. Cost estimates to b 1.5b US dollars. Make sure you get a guided tour to take you through. They share insights on the building and its use that you otherwise would not know. It's amazingly constructed in Italian vencian glass and marble.

Very grand mosque with characteristically Islamic traditional architecture. A must visit when in Casablanca. Please don't wear shoes inside the mosque and avoid going during prayer times, they will not let you in

The Hassan II Mosque in Casablanca is the third largest mosque in the world, and I was fortunate to see it in the weekend before Ramadan when preparations were underway for the tens of thousands of people to visit and pray. The place is stunning. However, my group had the great misfortune to get a man named Moses as our... More

It is enormous and built at extravagant costs. The guide does a good job of taking the groups through in English and other languages.

A very large, more modern mosque. Not as lovely or ornate as some of the older mosques, and the "glass floor" was not a floor so much two small glass pieces in the floor to see below.

You cannot stopover in Casablanca without seeing or visiting this wonder. It is not however possible to visit it all the time, there are usually 2 visits in the morning 9am and 10am then one more in the afternoon 2pm. If you think it loks amazing from the outside, perhaps just bigger than all the other mosques, wait till you... More
