Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

This is a nice red sand beach to stop at if the road to the more famous red beach is too wet. It is right off the road. Water can get a little rough but it was nice to walk to the cliff and back. Also make sure to stop at the huli huli chicken place just past this beach.

Koki Beach is just down the road from Huli Huli Chicken and in my opinion a must stop on the Road to Hana. Our guide app suggested that we not swim here, but we couldn't resist. The beach has lots of larger rocks, but plenty of sandy area as well and lots of room for playing in the waves or just hanging out in the water. If you're up to a short scramble over some rocks to your left as you face the water, you might be able to claim a secluded spot all to yourself. This area is much rockier, so you won't be doing any wave riding, but there are lots of places to just sit and enjoy the water and the view.
Well worth the stop!

We've select this beach once that has parking spto, picnic spot and is beautiful.
The water as hot and the waves were small, but enough to play.

If you know what to do when caught in a whirlpool or a strong undertow then go ahead make your day swimming there. It's an unsafe beach. Many have drowned there. If you still want to swim there, make sure surfers are around to pull you out, that is if they see you. Never swim alone!

Beautiful beach. Witnessed a drowning there today as we were driving the road to Hana. Not a fun sight to see. Please be careful if you go in the water here. Read the signage.

If your near Hana, definitely check this out of the way beach. It’s beautiful! Requires several steps down a well maintained step way. Easy to maneuver.

If you have driven along the legendary Highway 360 from Kahului to Hāna and you happen to stay overnight you should try and visit this beautiful beach. It is not the safest beach for swimming due to two Rip Currents however you can watch the locals surfing if there are reasonable waves and it’s great to just sit and watch and listen to the Pacific Ocean crashing onto the shoreline. Parking is on both sides of the road with a capacity for around 15 vehicles.

Nice alternative to the red sand beach at Kaihalulu if you're not up for the hassle of trying to find it and then hiking down. It's not as red, but enough to get an idea, still pretty and much easier to access.

It has a lovely view, clear water and soft sand.
The waves are strong and can get big so if you're into playing in the sea and getting a full workout this is your place to visit.
However I would not recommend the bach for none confident swimmers.

This was a pleasant surprise on the road to Hana. It wasn’t mentioned on the GyPSy app. Find it and stop there, then go get some banana bread. I highly recommend it. Quiet, clear water, gorgeous rock face and view of a small island. Worth the stop for sure!
