We got here serendipitously by continuing further along the road than planned - what a gorgeous area. There is easy parking at the 'Dumps' with a difficult walk across the chunks of lava to the cinder trail. One needs thick soled shoes - and many commented that they wished they had a walking stick like mine - but the short... More

This beach was beautiful and large. There was plenty of parking and lifeguards on site. The water gets deep from the shore very quickly. There are not amenities here that I could find (concessions, etc). There were restrooms near the parking lot as well as picnic benches. My sister and I were hoping that we would see some marine life... More

This natural area reserve is a place that we snorkeled 28 years ago, and when we came back to Maui for our 38th wedding anniversary we wanted to come back. It was a wonderful experience all over again. The drive to get there is a beautiful drive thru an upscale tourist area, that ends up in a more rural area.... More

I snorkeled here on March 7, 2017 and I really liked it. I like that it is protected, so comparing it to other places we snorkeled I felt like there was way more fish. I also noticed a lot more fish travelling in schools, which was really cool to see.

If you want to snorkel, this is the place! Turtles, tropical fish, corals, you'll see it all here. Safe for a family snorkel on a calm day.

My wife, mother in-law, and I hiked a portion of the Hoapili, or King's Trail. The road getting out there is a little rough, but not too difficult. The first part of the hike was easy enough, but it quickly became more difficult as we went along. I'm not complaining, I'm fine with a rugged hike, but you should wear... More

We were in Lahaina where it was cloudy & rough waters so we ventured down to Ahihi at the suggestion of a local. This was an amazing spot. Nice new parking lot & if you follow the short Wiala Cove trail down to the bay, there is a spot to enter fairly easily. This was very calm waters despite white... More

We had a great time here snorkelling with our 12 and 11 year old daughters who are new to snorkelling. Walk in entry, but beware of sea urchins in the shallows. Nice calm waters and a lot of fish and coral. The road becomes quite narrow as you get close to Ahihi so reduce speed and use caution when meeting... More

This was the 1st place we snorkeled and it was the best out of the 3 places we went. Lots of coral and colorful fish. Water was clear as long as sun was shining...at times it was a bit murky. The water depth is shallow to deep depending on how far you choose to venture. The water was very calm... More

This place is special because it is small and simple. Before going down to the water, there is a volunteer who greets you to answer any questions. There is no lifeguard, but there are no big currents. There is a rocky approach, so where some flip flops that you will leave just on the rocks by the water. The water... More
