Hanalei Bay offers beautiful sand and a gorgeous beach setting. The surf is great for boogie boarding and surfing. It is a great place to watch surfers catching some pretty good waves! When we were there the surf was a bit intense for smaller people or less confident swimmers.

I love this beach!! It is a very large bay, with a long strand of beach. There are life guard stations periodically along the beach. It's a good spot for beginners to surf, and of course boogie boarding or body surfing works too. The beach itself is deep enough to provide lots of space for you to find a spot... More

Instantly became one of my favorite places to visit. My wife and I went there in November when the weather was forecasted to be somewhat sketchy. Actually turned out very nice for most of the days maybe one or two rain showers but they were in the evening or at night. Great beach; great food in this town, nice farmers... More

We visited the bay and the town. The town was bustling with local-made crafts, restaurants/cafes, and tourist shopping. It was a nice place to rest after a day a the beach.

A beautiful, clean, peaceful beach. It is located on the North Shore, just past Princeville, and a bit of a long drive from Lihue but well worth the visit. The views are breathtaking there and along the way. This is the iconic beach where Hollywood makes lots of movies, including my fav Elvis Movie made in 1965. If you are... More

This is a lovely, clean beach with great views. My kids took surfing lessons from the Quicksilver surf shop and had a great time. It's also a nice beach to simply play in the surf. This is a nice day out.

Hanalei Bay is a huge bay located on the north shore of Kauai. The small town is located at the foot of the bay where you'll find some great restaurants (try Bar Acuda) and unique shopping. It's also a very popular surfing spot as slow rollers drift in from the Pacific - expect to find upwards of 25 surfers at... More

Be careful swimming, stay to close to the pier and don't turn your back. Very cool, Jurassic looking beach!
