Donkey Beach was a beautiful secluded beach. We almost had the whole place to ourselves. The waves were big and I wasn't comfortable getting in. If you're just wanting a beautiful place to take in the scenery this is a great spot.

Beach is pretty secluded. The tunnel tree path to get there is cool. Midsize waves come in clusters and often from every which way so be careful and don’t go out far unless you are an experienced ocean swimmer. We enjoyed body surfing but not...More

Donkey Beach is one of the more difficult beaches to access. Because of that, it is also one of the more secluded beaches. We spent a good four hours here on a beautiful Sunday and saw only two other people. Shade is extremely limited, we...More

This beach is a little hard to find. While traveling north on the Kuhio Hwy look for the Hikers sign and turn in to the little parking lot. Go down the paved path near the driveway down. You will come to a T intersection. Turn...More

This is a nice beach, already worth visiting because of the great mini-hike to it, but like other reviewers already mentioned, there is quite some trash from the ocean on it which seems to not get removed. But I would consider this an ocean problem...More

Parking is easy and "tree tunnel" paved walkway is really nice, but that empties into another paved walking/biking trail. To get to the beach, you have to go down one of several natural trails. Some are really steep! We had to walk quite a ways...More

At the risk of seeing this beach get too many visitors, I will say that any visit to Kauai North Shore is not complete without a visit to this beach. Google Maps correctly directs to parking right off the highway, about 20 spots and restrooms....More

If you're looking for some space to yourself and don't mind a nice, short walk, then make this a stop. Not a place to swim when the surf is up, keep your eyes on the water especially with kids. Some shade, a lot of debris...More

My wife and I visited Donkey Beach with no children, so take this review for what it's worth. You need to park up the road, and walk down to it. But even that walk is special, through a short tree tunnel. It's a beautiful beach,...More

There is a small parking lot with a restroom along Mile Marker 11 heading toward Princeville. In accessing this beach. . .just remember. . . whatever you are packing in you have to walk uphill on the way back. There is about 1/2 mile walk...More
