We went to Anini Beach two days this past week during our vacation on Kauai. This is by far the best snorkeling site, especially during the winter. I was there when a "big swell" was coming through so other beaches like Ke'e and Tunnels were no able to be snorkeled at due to 20-30 foot waves (seriously they were huge).... More

This is a beautiful, iconic Kauai beach. Lengthy and narrow, there is always room to put your towel down and simply relax. Access by car on the east or by public trial access on the west end( just outside the Westin Princeville Resort. It is a wonderful swimming and snorkling Beach and is reef protected.

This beach is a bit deceitful. At times it doesn't look like much but the snorkelling is awesome. We had the good fortune of snorkelling with a friendly minding his own business turtle. We gave him lots of room and just watching him swim around. BE CAREFUL though as the current can be very strong. I had a boogie board... More

We thoroughly enjoyed spending the day at Anini Beach! The water was calm & warm. We were able to walk way out in the water because the shore has such a gradual slope. We loved looking for unique shells on the sand. Can not wait to go back!

My love of green sea turtles turned to obsession after spending literally hours snorkeling up close with numerous turtles in this beautiful beach area. The barrier reef protects this beach from big surf and offers a couple of layers of reef to explore behind the outer barrier reef. To the east of the boat ramp there were numerous turtles lounging... Kauai has some of the most beautiful beaches in Hawaii, and this particular beach is extremely scenic. I didnt get into the water here, but if you just want to hang out at a beautiful beach, it'd be hard to go wrong with this one. It was also far less crowded than some of the other beaches in this part... More

This was a great place for snorkeling on the North Shore during winter. Almost all of the other beaches had too rough surf for snorkeling or swimming, but Anini stayed calm. Visibility was ok, and probably varies a lot with tide. During low tide, the corals are almost at the surface and fish end up being very close. Same fish... More

This was probably the best place we found to snorkel with the rough waters during the winter season. Saw 5-10 turtles every time we went out. Snorkeled at Ke'e, Tunnels, and Salt Pond beach. This was way far the best without booking an excursion

OK place to go snorkeling, but the water has poor clarity overall. Out towards the reef you may see some turtles (I saw 2) but again, poor clarity. Nice beach, good facilities, nothing nearby. Good for families with small children.

My partner and I fell in love with this beach. Firstly it's relatively empty and you are able to get a nice secluded spot. It's clean and the waters are perfect for a non swimmer like me to wade in. On a good day you can also see turtles at the beach. Bring a picnic as there weren't any eating... More
