The scenery around the lighthouse is amazing. The guided tour up into the lighthouse is well worth your time. The history is interesting and the guide was great

Gorgeous lighthouse with lots of birds nesting nearby. Some of the birds were nesting in holes literally steps from the path. This is a well preserved lighthouse with helpful volunteers ready to answer any questions. One of the volunteers even helped visitors take pictures in...More

We visited yesterday and got there about 30 minutes after the lighthouse area closed. Hours are 10-4, Tues-Sat. There's a gate, so you can't drive up to the lighthouse and think you're going to get to walk around it. However, there's a scenic viewing area...More

There is nothing special there. If you have seen a lighthouse before you can skip this stop easily. I do not recommend this visit.

There are beautiful views from the lighthouse walk. Plan to spend some time there to observe all the native birds. Ask one of the volunteers to point out what you are seeing. Definitely worth the short walk. The lighthouse is right in the middle of...More

Awesome lighthouse with tons of history and bird sanctuary. Scenic views, easy parking, nice gift shop. We spent about 30 minutes and was another nice spot in Kauai to checkout.

It’s also a bird sanctuary so be prepared for lots of birds and to pay $5 to get in. We weren’t there very long- just snapped a few photos and left.

The lighthouse is wonderful. The scenery is amazing. But the wildlife.....fantastic! Nene geese everywhere, red footed boobys, shearwaters, and many more other birds are in flight around the area constantly. We were fortunate enough to be there when the boobys were landing in the shrubs...More

Unfortunately it was cloudy and rainy the day we went here, but it was still worth while. You can either stop in the small parking lot by the lookout and see the lighthouse from a distance, or you can drive in - there is a...More

Although the point is moot as I write this, the park is operated by the Federal Government, so it may well be affected in the event of anothershutdown. The site's phone number is 808-828-1413.
