We only hiked into the beach (2 miles) and it wasn't terribly hard. Muddy in parts, so wear shoes you dont care too much about. There are some small streams you cross, and one larger one that takes some time to cross. The beach before continuing on is picturesque. The views of Na Pali coast are incredible. If you don't... We did the two mile hike to the beach and back. The sun was shining that day, but it had been a rainy week and the trail was a wreck. So muddy. The trail is very rocky and the rocks were very slippery from the mud. It was a very challenging hike but worth it. It was gorgeous and the... More

Beautiful! We had a blast and enjoyed the view. First 1/2 mile is all up hill and can be slick & rocky. Bring water and wear comfy shoes.

If you can choose a dry sunny day, grab your most sturdy shoes, lots of bottle water, a snack (Google: Sushi Girl) and set out for an amazing hike! The first few miles are the toughest with slippery rocks, steep inclines, and tight single-track. But you'll be rewarded with amazing views of the beach below and the coastline

The trail provided great views. The day we went it was pretty rainy on and off so the trail was pretty muddy and slick in spots. We only went to Hanakapi'ai Beach, but it was still nice. Make sure you get there pretty early because it gets busy and parking can be a challenge.

This is a beautiful hike, but choose a good day. During heavy rains, the highway to the trail was closed at Hanalei Bridge due to flooding.

When in Kauai, HI make sure to do the Kalalau Trail if you're up for the challenge. The trail is 11 miles of fairly rough, steep terrain (rocks, tree roots and red soil). Take a walking stick (usually left at the start of the trail). Beautiful lookout points along the way. Take water and wear hiking shoes and sunscreen. Slippery... More

If you are able, the Kalalau Trail is a must do adventure! Please be aware that the 8 mile round trip hike to the Hanakapi'ai Falls can be very dangerous. The first two miles to the beach are ok for average trail goers, but the remaining two miles to the falls is dangerous, slippery, and exciting as well! That being... More

One of the most gorgeous hikes I have ever done. Beautiful scenery, well maintained hiking path. Hike is little challenging up hill, but it is worth every step. We did 4 miles, 8 miles round trip.
