Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

This little museum is full of history and shares the important impact Lucy Craft Laney had in Augusta. The museum is located in her former home. We loved learning her life story! The museum’s mission is to share her legacy through history & arts. There was a great exhibit featuring Caddie Legends when we visited. Worth checking out the museum while in Augusta -

Wonderful exhibit on the life of an important educator and leader from Augusta. The museum is her home and a enlightening exhibit of Black History in the area.

Toured the Lucy craft Laney museum with my niece for a project and o was pleasantly surprised with how many things I learned that I never would have thought about. The role Mrs. Craft-Laney played in Augustans history is a must for everyone to learn about.

There is so much to learn here about black history in Augusta! The city of Augusta was a forerunner during the time of segregation and black businesses were and still are booming! It's a great experience, so check it out.

Although this museum is rather small, it does have some rather interesting artifacts. You can only go during the day of the school week, so that made it rather difficult to go. I think it's a great tie-in to the area.

My family was given a guided tour of the museum. It was very interesting! I learned a lot about Lucy C. Laney and the African American Community that I grew up in. The tour was very educational. I am a graduate of Lucy Laney High School and I was even more prouder to be a graduate of Lucy Laney High School after the tour.

My cousin was visiting from New Jersey and wanted to see the sights of Augusta. We took him to this museum and we were all fascinated at the things that are on display throughout. The entrance fee is also dirt cheap. You won't be disappointed.

We were able to have a private tour. They had a beautiful quilt show on at the time. The love that Lucy Craft Laney had for education and helping to give children a start was such a touching story. The museum was her home and it felt just like we were there visiting her.

We attended a dynamic photographic exhibition by photographer Jerry Taliaferro. Mrs. Christine Miller-Betts is a phenomenal woman and director of this museum. She was such a pleasure to meet!
