Great tribute to the Georgia Signers of the Declaration of Independence: George Walton, Lyman Hall and Button Gwinnett. George and Lyman are buried here.

We were already on Greene Street and decided to view the monument ; it's part of Augusta's history honoring the residents who participated in the signing of the Declaration of Independence, we read the monument and moved on.

There are several historical markers and monuments along Greene St. with a paved sidewalk down the center. A nice walk for history buffs who like to get some exercise. Be careful as the monument is surrounded by turn lanes.

So did not expect such a lovely monument to be just right there in the end of the street...and with people buried right there too! Lovely memorial to those who signed the Dec. of Independence!
