If you are new to Athens, start here! Lots of great information on what can be found in Athens. Remember to ask someone about all the different "neighborhoods" since folks give directions by referencing these and you'll be lost otherwise ;-)

Jeff Clarke was our tour guide and he did an awesome job. He was very knowledgeable of the area and made the whole experience worth it. He kept you interested in learning about history and the area. Even my 14 year old daughter enjoyed it....More

Free admission. It is a beautiful example of architecture, but it's VERY sparsely decorated. Took about 15 minutes to walk through. I really appreciated their collection of local brochures and that they offer tours, although I didn't end up taking one.

Most visitor centers are bland modern buildings. Athens put theirs in a relocated house from the 1820s. You can visit history while getting modern information from some very nice people. The gentleman that was there when we arrived was very genial and found us information...More
