The chamber of commerce, court house , visitors center are all located downtown Athens. Also there are many eclectic type shops and places to eat. However, you must pay for parking.

The Five Points is not what I would call a site, so much as a neighborhood. Still, there's plenty to see and do around the points: shopping, dining, drinking, and so on. If you're driving into town, which you probably are, take care. The intersection...More

Although many buildings have been added to Lumpkin Street, it still retains its pleasant on-campus atmosphere. It is a good street to stroll, or you can go on to the old campus and visit some ancient buildings, the Art Museum, and the Main Library.

From Earth Fare to Jittery Joes Coffee, I love this neighborhood. It's fun and alive. Good restaurants, specialty shops, and vintage architecture.

South Lumpkin Street runs past UGA campus and has plenty of shops, restaurants, and various venues in the vicinity. The vegetarian restaurant Grit is close by and serves really fine food. I'm not a vegetarian but my wife and daughter are and we all enjoyed...More

Athens is (was) my favorite city and I went to UGA for grad school, but the new NON-FUNCTIONAL "park-it.com" lots ruined the night for us and many other patrons. Come on Athens! You can do better!!!
