Yes, double barreled. Display on the corner of Hancock and College you can see a piece of history and learn about its exsistence on the Historical Plaque explaining its background. Great photo opportunity, keepsake, as well

How can you visit Athens and NOT see the double barreled cannon at least once. Neat to see and read about the history for history buffs. Been a land mark for many years.

When you're walking down the main street in Athens, it's right here so it's a neat little stop. Nothing to go out of the way to see.

One of the only, if not the only, remaining Double Barreled Cannons in the USA, it sits in downtown Athens and, like the Tree That Owns Itself, is unique to Athens. I've never heard of another one on display, anywhere else. From the ACC website:...More

This is a must see for first time visitors to Athens, GA. It was an interesting but failed attempt to develop a more lethal weapon during the civil war.

I've seen many cannons in my journeys, but not like this one! It has been beautifully preserved and restored. There is a local joke that it is pointing North.
