Rastrojon is a very interesting Mayan site. It has a commanding view of the entrance to the Copan valley, that is probably one of the reasons the location was chosen. It is interesting to see the archaeologist's research areas visible to the public, nice detail.

I visited with a small tour group, so we had a guide to tell us about it. Site was earthquake damaged hundreds of years ago, so led to its being abandoned. Opportunity to observe Maya construction techniques, as toppled and fractured structures reveal internal "secrets"....More

It is a short walk up hill within the clarion hotels grounds and is a very prive site that you can also enjoy
