We did a morning sunrise tour of Tikal. For sunrise we sat on temple 4 and watched the sun come up over the park.
I personally could have done without temple 4 and think watching sunrise from the Lost World would be better.
Temple IV is the highest building of Tikal. The temple is not fully uncovered. To go up you have to use the wooden staircase. From the top you have view of tops of other temples sticking out from the jungle. I can imagine that sun...More
We were able to climb Temple IV on a sunrise tour. It was quite an experience. The guides were knowledgeable and asked to remain silent during sunrise. We all respectfully did so. I plan on going again with family members!
As someone who does not like heights I was unable to climb this the tallest of the temples but I was told that this has the best view across the park of the area and of the site and the buildings which are presently uncovered....More
Temple IV is one of the tallest and most voluminous buildings in the whole Maya world and of course in Tikal. Book sunrise tour. It is amazing waiting for sun and listening to jungle from the top of the temple.
