We took a sunrise tour (highly recommended) and sat on the stairs at the top of Temple IV as the jungle woke up. Although there was a bit of fog, this was the highlight of our trip. You climb up scaffolding-like stairs (built several years...More

We were able to climb Temple IV on a sunrise tour. It was quite an experience. The guides were knowledgeable and asked to remain silent during sunrise. We all respectfully did so. I plan on going again with family members!

Temple IV is one of the tallest and most voluminous buildings in the whole Maya world and of course in Tikal. Book sunrise tour. It is amazing waiting for sun and listening to jungle from the top of the temple.
