This three day tour gave you like the best veiws, service and soure mucels. I usually trek without a guide but since quetzal is a all volonter comunity with really passionate  guides and a beutiful lokal end it was worth every penny. This hike was absolutely amazing! Although the weather for the first two days of hiking was not great, Sebastian, James, and Matt were phenomenal guides. I never felt that I was rushed or that I was holding anything up even when I was all the way in the back of the group and needing to stop to catch my breath... More

I've done 2 hikes with these guys meanwhile, the 2 day Santa Maria hike and the 6 day Nebaj to Todos Santos. Both were amazing, the guys at Quetzaltrekkers are amazing, they take care of everything, and I'm actually going on another hike with them to Lago Atitlan, and I'm sure it'll be great. Hike with them, you won't be... More

I cannot think of anything bad to say about the 3 day hike from xela to lake atitlan. Good organization for a great cause. Greatly appreciated the possibility to borrrow any kind of gear. Genuinely friendly, enthusiastic and positive staff, great food and an absolutely beautiful hike. Exhausting, but totally worth it, and the finishing sunrise over Lake Atitlan was... More

Me: 26, female, average weight and height, never hiked before, never been at any high altitude before. The hike: Tough! Extremely physically demanding but so so worth it! The first day is the hardest because of the altitude. Definitely arrive in Xela at least 1-2 days in advance to acclimatise. The company: Friendly, genuine, well-prepared, experienced hikers, and 100% transparent... More

Bryn commanded our group with ease and good spirit. Even when the hike got tough, Bryn, Mel, and Emily's company kept me assured. This trip is dotted with moments I'll never forget--clouds cloaking the mountains and those farthest ahead; light changing like a mood hill after hill; Mayan locals Faustina and Don Pedro at the end of it all, welcoming... We just finished the 3-day Xela to Lago Atitlan Hike with Quetzaltrekkers. We heard about the trek while traveling through Central America, and decided to give it a shot. We had never hiked before, and didn't have any of the necessary equipment, however Quetzaltrekkers allowed us to borrow everything we needed, included in the price (sleeping bags, pack backs, additional... Quetzaltrekkers did a wonderful job with this lake trip. It was all very organized and well done. The guides were amazing and funny. I thought being able to use all their gear was very useful so I didnt have to buy or rent anything additional. They were patient enough with everyone who was slower and allowed for lots of rest....
