This is a great Zoo that has many different animals. It takes about an hour and half to see everything. Definitely worth checking out when in Guatemala City.

I don't usually visit zoos when I travel, but I went with a friend who lives here for her birthday, and was very pleasantly surprised! They have new renovated enclosures that give the animals much more freedom to move around, and you can get up close with some animals like emus and lemurs. I had a fantastic time!

One of the most beautiful zoos in Latin America. A perfectly keept zoo, with a fantastic variety of animals. It has a nice little acuarium, and very impressive serpentarium. Very shady to walk, several places to sit and take a rest. Food court. Great parking space. Very cheap admission fee. One not to miss.

This was a nice day trip to get the kids to see something different. Very affordable with cute areas. It was strange to see planes taking off and landing, I felt bad for the bears who obviously did not have enough space, but I was at a Zoo afterall.

Guatemala's city zoo is a very nice place to visit. It is located near the international airport. Is a great place to go with children, family and friends. It is very well maintained. Inside you can find restaurants and areaa of entertainment. The zoo is part of a world organization, focused on protection and conservation of endangered species.

The zoo was not some place that you do sightseeing when travel, but sometimes hanging out at the zoo also relax and a nice way to killing some times. To my surprise, La Aurora zoo actually has couple animals that I have never seen or heard of before, I am glad that I went there!

I have visited Zoo in Guatemala City on one of Saturday’s, during my recent stay in this city. This is nice place to see natural plants of Guatemala and also meet locals :) (almost no tourist). I am not a fan of zoos as I do not think this is the best place for animals. However I understand that this is some kind of a way of prolonging some species. Therefore I am visiting such places to support them, by paying tickets and buying souvenirs. Zoo in Guatemala requires support - some animals were in smaller places and you can see, by observing their behavior, that they need bigger place to leave, in these abnormal condition of zoo. I believe that by supporting local communities we can help them to become better. I hope one day zoo in Guatemala will become a better place for animals. If you have chance to be in Guatemala City, consider quick visit to local zoo (close to airport).

I've only been to a few zoos and I think this is the best one I've seen. They have many different animals and some I've never seen before. Plenty off places to get food. The zoo is very clean and well maintained.

Your expectations will be exceeded.
One of the best activities in Guatemala City.
Elephant, hippo, chimps, lions, tigers, rhinos, penguins and a anaconda. Also an amazing serpentarium/reptile zone.
Not onli is this one of the best in the region, I would say one of the best in latinoamericana.
It's very modern, clean and the gardening is world class.
Great for adults and children.
For a little extra the vip tour let's you feed the elephant and giraffe and take a very close look at the felines and lemures.

Hi there. How much time do you need to visit the main zoo attractions? Will a mid-day be enough?

I think it will be fine. It’s a small zoo but nice. Getting there around noon should be good.
Have fun

Recomendable!!! Me cuentas si vas, hasta pronto.
