a small but varied collection of guatemalan art worthy of an afternoon visit. happy to see art musuems that make local visits affordable (Q5 for guatemalans) and the architecture was quite varied in style, so look up during your visit!

We ended up on an unplanned excursion to this museum and I'm so glad we did! It was a really interesting modern historical view of art in Guatemala, with some current and cutting-edge work.

Nice little museum, the visit itself isn't so well planned, I feel confused sometimes about what room what about which artist/period/style, but great presentation of guatelama art history and main modern artist, Carlos Mérida, set in a beautiful old building

This museum is absolutely beautiful and has a collection of art you likely won't see anywhere else. I was especially impressed by the surrealist art of Manolo Gallardo as well as the works by Carlos Merida. It would have been helpful if some of the...More

If you have a couple of hours this museum is well worth the visit. The collection was small but had some great pieces that showcased some talented artists. Not a huge place so it does not take long to see the entire collection.

The building was not designed to be a museum. But this is just the begining. Although this museum has some important arctifacts, the mise-en-scene is old-fashioned, boring and chaotic. The museographic proposal is not clear. You cannot find a thread to follow the visit. Guatemala...More

This museum is on the small side and has some downsides but it houses works from about every important Guatemalan artist over the past 100 years though there are some works that are even older. The star of the museum is the gallery dedicated to...More

Although not particularly large the art housed here is varied and well displayed. It's an enjoyable stroll around the gallery that can be combined with the Natural History and archeology museums across the complex.

The Museum has a wonderful collection of Guatemala*s modern art and the best Guatemalan painters, but during Febuary and March they have a Pop exhibition with international artists, among them is Andy Warlow with Marlyn Monroe, Queen Elizabeth and others. There are 11 Pop artists...More
