If you like mud, this is your place! Rio Celeste is an interesting phenomenon (no spoiler in this review) and the nature is impressive. Definitely worth a visit. I really appreciated having my nordic walking sticks with me so as to better navigate the muddy...More

We went Jan 27 2018 to the waterfalls. Long drive to get there. $12 per person and when I was there the connection was done so had to pay in cash so bring enough to cover in case they cannot take credit card. While in...More

Totally worth the fee to do the hike. Also, rent the rubber boots. If there has been rain (and there has ALWAYS been rain), the small few for renting rubber boots and saving your sneakers is totally worth it.

Rio Celeste is the draw and it doesn't take much distance on the trail to get there from the main lodge. Getting here may be just as challenging as the trails within Tenorio however. There doesn't seem to be a meaningful main stretch of asphalt...More

Let me first say this: you DO NOT need 4 wheel drive to reach the park if you are coming in via Bijagua. This was something I had seen in many places, but that is no longer true. We had a rental Hyundai sedan. The...More

The walk through the jungle down to the waterfall and river was so amazing, but the hike back up almost killed me = not convinced it was really worth it. Saw a family of coatis on the way back. Glad I wore hiking boots instead...More
