24 reviews
Venture into a remote jungle in southern Belize near the small settlement of Monkey River Village, an area known for its troops of black howler monkeys and other wildlife. Glide through a mangrove forest on a boat before trekking on foot through wild, undeveloped terrain with an expert guide. You’ll also look for manatees, turtles, and crocodiles in this unique ecosystem where river meets the sea.

We booked our excursion through Nite Wind Tours in Placencia for a snorkelling day at Silk Cayes. The experience was unbelievable. The weather was perfect and the waters were calm on our way to the Cayes. Tiger was our boat captain and a great guy to hang with. We first snorkelled around the Caye to explore all the underwater foliage and fish. We then had a great lunch and once everything was cleaned up, we got back into the boat for a ten minute ride to the reef. The water was crystal clear and we jumped in with the nurse sharks, a variety of stingrays and the most stunning of all, the gigantic turtles. We had an awesome group with us and we all laughed and enjoyed the day. On the way back, we got an extra treat, as our boat captain Tiger stopped at Raye Caye where we had a beer and a swim in the pool. An absolutely unforgettable day!!

Friends and I took a snorkeling trip off of Silk Caye with Ocean Motion Tours and they were great! We also visited Moho Caye, but Silk Caye is where you see nurse sharks, rays, conch, and loggerhead sea turtles! Unforgettable!

Akeem Williams and his crew from Cultural Experience Belize picked us up at the seaside dock at Umaya where we were staying, avoiding us having to spend any time driving on roads, and we spent the day on the water. We went first to Conch Caye for snorkeling with stunning corals and fish, then to Silk Caye to swim with eagle rays, stingrays, nurse sharks, and sea turtles, then on to refreshments at King Lewey's. Chef Troy prepared lunch for us on Conch Caye - fresh grilled hogfish, pineapple, chicken, and cheesy potatoes (and Belikin and water). Akeem shared stories about Belize's local history, culture, and traditions. Fabulous time, great guide, and very helpful crew. Definitely recommend.

We went for a day trip with GoSea. The island itself is like something out of a movie. The snorkeling along the reef is excellent. Side trip to the see Nurse Sharks, Sting Rays, Spotted Eagle Rays, and Giant Loggerhead Turtles. We also saw dolphins. A terrific day. We did it twice!
