Our tour guide told us about the medicinal properties of several of the plants. This made the visit not only beautiful, but informative. But even without the medicinal plant information, the gardens are a beautiful way to spend a few hours.

In February it is winter and many plants are dormant. Hence, few blooms even in the orchid house. But some nice walks. We did not engage a guide but I now think it would have been helpful.

We stayed in San Ignacio and this place is a bit of a drive out of town. No problem if you have a rented vehicle, but $40 bz each way for a taxi, plus a few more so he waits around for you makes this...More
