We had a great time picnicking on the gardens, hiking the trails and looking at the beautiful plants. The 'trails' are a series of pretty short little trails, however they lead through some fun surroundings. We had a special little guide with us, Maggie the...More

As a gardener, plant lover, & birder, 2 visits would have been very nice. I'm glad we opted for a guided tour and that we ate lunch there.

Loved the tiny hummingbird nest with 2 fledglings we found in the orchid house and the busy butterfly garden right beside it.

This botanical garden has one big disadvantage – even though it’s not THAT far, it’s pretty expensive to get there. But if you have a car or just don’t mind taxi fee, it’s a nice place to visit. We came by bus from the town...More

A short drive from San Ignacio, this Botanic Garden has a lot of beautiful plants and flowers. The one hour guided tour is very informative.

Enjoyed going to the gardens and exploring. Our guide was very nice and we learned a lot about medicinal herbs and treatments in Mayan culture which was interesting. It was a long trek to get here from San Ignacio and you go 3-4 miles down...More

We stayed at duPlooy’s so we had access to the gardens. The orchids weren’t in bloom at the time, but everything else was. We spent a late afternoon wandering around and enjoying the grounds. We also did a night tour, sadly didn’t see many animals,...More
