So, I've spent many a day driving, hiking and exploring Mountain Pine Ridge (the area in Belize where Big Rock Falls is located) and I must admit I hadn't ventured to this spot previously. Boy, that was a mistake. There is an area further up...More

It was a short walk from the parking area to the falls and swimming pools. You need to climb some wooden steps, but it is not too bad. The falls are quite nice to see and the water is not too cold.

Everything was a little funky until we got to the falls. We weren't sure if the parking area was safe, the trail appeared unused, and, after seeing all the trash at Rio On Pools, we were a wary. When we got to the falls, all...More

If you can find this place, it's worth it. Head for Gaia Riverlodge and you should see signs directing you. There is a rudimentary parking lot and there is a hard climb down to the river and back up. The steps are uneven. However, once...More

After a short but steep hike we arrived at the falls. The hike in is all down hill. It is a good idea to soak in the cool water just before you leave. You build up a lot of heat climbing back to your car....More

This waterfall area is very much off the beaten track, but worth finding. If you are taking a tour of Caracol, it's easy to see on the return journey to San Ignacio. It's a bit of a climb down, but wooden steps have been built...More

It wouldn't be worth it unless spending the night in the Pine Ridge Forest area. You have to cross the entire country to get there and it would be a waste if you didn't see all the things in between. If you were going to... More
