Altun Ha is an amazing site to visit. The history is very interesting and the hike to the top of the ruins provides a fantastic view. It’s an excellent day tour while visiting Belize. We even took our children, ages 6 and 8, and they...More

This is a great tour to take. When you get off at the cruise port of call its only a 30 min drive. Get a tour guide in the port village. Fun trip and good exercise.

Took a private tour out to the ruins from the Belize City Tourism Village cruise port. The ride was comfortable, with some bumps on the entrance. Fascinating location with pyramids we could climb!

Visited Altun Ha with my friend during the week, it was so quiet because I think we came during a quiet time of the year so all our photos are unspoilt by crowds! It’s quite interesting to look around and hear the history of the...More

The ruins were a great experience. The ruins were not as high or vast as one might expect when they think of some of the more iconic places in Mexico, however it was still worth visiting. They do not let you climb up the actual...More

Well preserved and beautiful place to visit! Lots of rules to make sure the place is clean and tidy. The small museum is beautiful and informative (as are the tour guides) The small market outside is fun to visit with very negotiable prices. The food...More

This place is very interesting and we learned a lot about the Mayans and this community. Sadly, it rained the day we were there and although we climbed to the top of one temple it put a damper on the visit. Our tour guide was...More

A price savy traveler might suggest (me) that you just get a taxi and negotiate a price instead of getting a tour company to do it. If I knew that it was only $10 BZ per adult for admission, this trip could've been $80 US...More

We went to Lamanai and it was beautiful. Glad we made the decision to go here as the crowds were smaller and we were able to climb on of the main temples. Great views. Plus the tour to get their is by boat and the ride up... More

It's very safe. Tour companies are best. There really are no crowds since the area is so large.

I would say they aren't that winding. At least not the route that we took. I don't recall any mountainous roads. I think your kid will be fine.
