Great for divers, not so much for snorkelers.

This iconic spot is well-known as a must for divers. We went with the Amigos del Mar guides (who were fabulous). The tours also offer guided snorkeling for non-divers, so I snorkeled while my boyfriend did the dives. This is a cool site, but definitely manage your expectations - as our captain reminded us when we set out - the... More

A must see if you are a diver - dived to 40 metres into this deep blue cavern . Got to say a little underwhelmed but I have done 900+ dives . View from below looking back up was great - shilouette photos a must . Very few fish but great to tick off your dive list Would I go... More

One of the best scenic flights I have ever taken! (and I have done several in different parts of the World) At $200USD - it was really expensive - BUT unlike other scenic flights elsewhere is was a good 1.5 hours of flying. I don't dive, and came along way, so figured there was no better way to see it.... More

Blue Hole nice to see, but the reef is the dive you will remember. Great coral and Sea Life. You be glad you spent the money and got up early. Be cautious of the eels, Dive instructors are feeding lion fish to the sharks and eels, making them agressive for a easy meal. Cameras on selfie stick resemble the Hawaiian... More

We chartered a flight through Maya Island Air from San Pedro to Placencia (there's no direct flight) that included a tour of the Blue Hole and surrounding atolls. What a site! My husband and I aren't divers but this was a must-see for us, so viewing by air was the best choice for us. The turquoise waters that fade into... More

We were in the minority as snorkelers, since most of the other trip participants were divers. We had a dedicated guide for snorkeling who was knowledgeable about the reef and the fish there. Was a bucket list item for us, glad we did it. One suggestion is not to wear a life jacket when you snorkel (assuming you are a... More

I'll start with this: I am glad I dived the Great Blue Hole. But once is enough. While this may be a Top 10 world dive site it is definitely NOT one of 10 most beautiful dives I've ever done. But the Blue Hole is about something more than beauty -- it's different. Almost nowhere else will you be able... More

We enjoyed snorkeling this reef while the divers did their thing as well. It was a beautiful area reached after a very long boat ride with Ramon divers. We did enjoy the boat trip there. The park fee is a little steep at $ 40 USD. But I'd do it again. Would love to have swam across it ,it is... More

Fligh over with Tropic Air. View is nice, not sure if it's worth the bang for the buck. Would have been nice to have the pilot give us a bit of insight on the Blue Hole.

We came here because all the guidebooks and reviews say "you gotta do it" or "check it off your bucket list" or whatever. I'm an Open Water diver and this was one of the most boring dives I've ever done. There's a wall with little coral and barely any life at all. There is really no reason to dive there.... More
