This refuge is on an island and you have to use a boat to get to it. It's a very short trip across a narrow channel but a boat is required. We got on the island and walked to the gulf side and saw one...More

Please Note-this island is not in Apalachicola. It is reached from indian Pass, and then a shuttle to the island. There you have a choice of hanging out on a beach with millions of shells and nice shallow water to play, or walking around on...More

This place is a gem. If you are the type of person who wants a Disney experience with animals in pens as you tour then skip the island and drive to Orlando. If you really love being out in nature, shelling a deserted beach, watching...More

This is a secluded island off of Indian Pass 15 miles west of Apalachicola. Perfect for birding, shelling and looking for ancient Indian chards. Joey Romanelli runs a shuttle off the pass.

There was no one on the beaches and I had a great walk. I recommend a visit, just a few minutes from Apalachicola.

We participated in one of the free tours of St. Vincent Island during their wild week. A short boat ride to the island where you board a truck pulled trailer with bleacher seating. This is about a 4 hour tour and the volunteer speakers are...More

On a recent visit to the barrier islands near Apalachicola, experienced a rural beach trip, with more bait shops than boutiques. From the east end of St. George Island State Park to Indian Pass on the west end of SVNWR, recreation opportunities are endless. Weekend...More

Very rustic tour - informative - old history of the area - bring bug spray and cool water - very reasonable cost for boat transportation to the island - wagon ride is the preferred means of travel - teens could handle the self guided walking...More
