Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Not an opera fan? You would surprise yourself if you came on Saturday morning from 10am to 12pm. I'm not a fan, but I learn so much from the 15-minute segments that talented young students from around the world come to prep and refine with the support of colleagues and a master teacher. At the end of each 15-minute segment, the master teacher arrives on stage to reset, review and add commentary for the young performers (college-age). He's humorous, insightful and always helpful. The audience learns as much as the students. Two hours is a long time, but it moves quickly. The theater, itself, is a well-kept theater from ages past. Come and enjoy. Leave the young children at home or in the park with a sitter. Turn off your cellphone and enter the age of the masters in classic theater. You won't be disappointed. Call ahead for tickets!

We stopped by and were immediately offered an individual tour. What an astonishing restoration. Would love to see a show here.

The Wheeler is the venue for the Aspen Music Festival Master Opera Classes conducted by Edward Berkeley, himself a work of art. Wheeler is an ideal venue, comfortable and with good acoustics. Ed is a most articulate and humorous teacher, always constructive, he loves his singing students and works on their acting. The students are competent. The two hour classes are a National Treasure.

If there's a movie or show you want to see at the Wheeler Opera House, don't miss it. The place is beautifully preserved (Aspen taxes contribute to its maintenance) and a special piece of Aspen history. The balcony is a great place to see a movie, but the elevator only goes up to the mezzanine. If you want to sit in the balcony, you have to climb the stairs... not always an easy task at 8000 feet! But well worth it!

Enjoyed a highly entertaining piano battle between two incredible German pianists Andreas Kern and Paul Cibis in this beautiful, historic building. Nice restaurants are within short walking distance. See reviews for Zocalito Latin Bistro.

For the large amount of history that this building holds, it is a shame that the city won't allow tours of this place. Apparently, the only wat to see the place is to have tickets to a oerformance. Honestly, I would have paid a fee to tour it on an off day.

This 1889 Opera House has been wonderfully restored and kept up. It is absolutely gorgeous. We attended a concert here during the John Denver Week celebration, and the sound quality in this venue is excellent. There are no bad seats in the house, which we hear about a lot of venues, but in this case it is true. This is a real Aspen gem.
