I grew up in the 70's and had to see this place with my old friends. It was more than I expected. Not only is it beautifully laid out with walkways, flowers and water, it is so peaceful too. Throughout the sanctuary are large boulders with engraved quotes from famous authors, which make one stop and read and appreciate where... More

One of the main reasons we stopped in Aspen, if you are a John Denver fan and within 100 miles you should go out of your way to visit this park.

I've had the opportunity to visit the memorial gardens on two separate occasions and have thoroughly enjoyed both! Being a huge fan of John Denver's music throughout the years, I especially enjoyed seeing the large granite boulders with the words to many of his songs engraved on them. The meandering creek, which winds along the pathway amidst the wild flowers... More

I will have to read more about this online. It was a little hard to find because parking near it was often taken up by soccer games. We looked pretty hard to find it. There ware lots of rocks, some with his lyrics and some with other quotations. Wish there was some more info there about the origin and layout... More

The gardens are beautiful and well maintained. The paths are a little rough as we had some older folks with us. The area is peaceful and the engraved rocks are thought provoking. Worth a stop by if in the area.

Beautiful, compact gardens with many stone and water features with exceptional plantings. Almost like visiting a quiet church. Adjacent to north side of downtown Aspen. Peaceful walk. Adjoining wooded paths along waterways for hours of easy walking.

Take the time for a nice stroll through the gardens and pathways. A fitting tribute to,a man who appeared to love nature.

Definitely worth a stop if you are traveling in the Aspen area. The park is well manicured with so many beautiful flowers and water features. We visited because I am a huge John Denver fan and wanted to see the song-inscribed rocks. In addition to rocks inscribed with song lyrics, there are memorial stones, and John Denver quotes. The garden... More
