Great mountain with lots of variety and something for everyone. Easy access from the town and great snow! NOT cheap day rates start at $145

Great snow. Friendly staff seemed well trained even on opening day! My kids are just learning to ski and I’m afraid that starting them here may have ruined them for less put-together operations. They have no idea that not every ski area is this great.

We had a afternoon snack at Ajax tavern. Some warm drinks and truffle fries and cauliflower! The bar was accomodating. The view looked at the slope and we watched them prep for opening day.

Love, Love, Love! An amazing mountain with great trails. Ski School is superb. All you need is snow, snow and more snow. Find the mountain rescue Airedale, Zooey for a photo op. He is a very dignified, noble and charming creature. Learned more techniques here...More

The mountain and the surroundings are stunning to say the least. The elevation is 11000+, so be prepared. Bring sunscreen. We took the nature trail and enjoyed it. Not cheap at $25/person for the gondola trip, but there are a lot of free activities, especially...More

Ajax mountain is quite special. Between the views up the gondola, the layout of the mountain, and the grooming of the slopes, it is skiing at its finest. The position of the mountain as it ascends from the Town of Aspen is quite special and...More

Unless you are seriously fit and have an hour or more to spare, I wouldn't hike up the mountain. It takes about 30 minutes to get to the top while riding the lift so walking it is not achievable for most, I think. I can't... More

Hi Karen, I don’t ski - my other half is the skier. Your best bet is to Phone a local ski shop, ask for a local who skis and have a discussion with them. Just about everyone, in most shops are Aussies who live and work... More
