Although best known for its world class skiing, Aspen mountain offers unmatched facilities and experience all year. Our favorite time to visit Aspen is during the fall, when the aspen are changing and the views never end. Although never "cheap", Aspen offers incredible values during...More

We had a afternoon snack at Ajax tavern. Some warm drinks and truffle fries and cauliflower! The bar was accomodating. The view looked at the slope and we watched them prep for opening day.

The mountain and the surroundings are stunning to say the least. The elevation is 11000+, so be prepared. Bring sunscreen. We took the nature trail and enjoyed it. Not cheap at $25/person for the gondola trip, but there are a lot of free activities, especially...More

Ajax mountain is quite special. Between the views up the gondola, the layout of the mountain, and the grooming of the slopes, it is skiing at its finest. The position of the mountain as it ascends from the Town of Aspen is quite special and...More

First off there are no green runs here... None/Nada!! Beautiful scenery. The vertical is good. The runs are not super long except from top to bottom. Lots of great blacks, but with poor snow this season I mainly stuck to blue groomers!

Colorado is the place for fine skiing. You have many choices for snowboarding and skiing. When selecting a mountain to challenge your skiing you really need to understand the different runs each mountain offers. If your a great skier you must ski Ajax.

Unless you are seriously fit and have an hour or more to spare, I wouldn't hike up the mountain. It takes about 30 minutes to get to the top while riding the lift so walking it is not achievable for most, I think. I can't... More
