This is your basic hatchery for steelhead trout and rainbow trout, but it is an enjoyable experience along the Mad River. You can feed the fish with fish pellets and take a walk around the facilities and have a good view of the Mad River....More

Was a good place to see the fish but we were thinking there would be more of a "hatchery" than a couple of fish "pools" Disappointing since we traveled out of the way to see it.

We were vacationing in the area and were told it was a good place for birding. It was a hot afternoon but the birds were quite cooperative. We saw about 17 species in just over an hour. We would definitely go there again.

It is so much fun to feed the fish. They swarm and create wonderful fishy chaos. The staff are happy to talk about their work and how to inseminate, raise, and distribute fish in lakes and rivers in Northern California.
