With easy hiking trails, this is a great place to spend a few hours or all day. Lots of bike riders but only on the main roads. Other trails are foot only. There are still trees littering the trails in a few spots from the winter’s storms but none prove a problem. It’s a $8.00 daily use fee to park... More

Nisene Marks is an extensive redwood forest with several gentle hiking trails. Pick from 1 to 10 mile walks. Bikes allowed on fire road, but many trails are bike free. Did a lot of walking here to get prepared for Camino de Santiago.

We spent a few hours hiking the trails through this redwood forest. They were not too difficult, and there was more beauty around every turn. We were there on a Sunday afternoon, and it was surprisingly busy, but not so much that it was a hindrance to our enjoyment. It was cool, and green, and hiking along the stream was... More

One day of my favorite biking & hiking spots in SC. It's like a trip back in time. Bring a picnic lunch and enjoy Ma Natural.

Gorgeous hiking areas with Aptos creek running through it, there is even a waterfall if you want a bit of a challenger. Also great for just a leisurely walk in the woods!

A well-organized trail system makes this the idea place to get into the forest! True beauty in the trees and along the active stream that goes through the park. Don't miss it!

Shhhhh. Don't tell anybody. OK I'll let the cat out of the bag. This park is a local's treasure. It represents what we here in Santa Cruz call "Tree and Sea". You can actually walk 15 minutes from the redwoods in Nisene Marks to the Monterey Bay at Seacliff State Beach. From fresh air to salt air....from the cool of... More

This is a gem near Santa Cruz... shaded by redwoods. Many trails to choose from, and really nice road for mountain bikers... You can park in Aptos and ride your bike free up the mountain, or drive your vehicle and pay $8 for entering the park. We had a lovely 7 mile hike, but you can choose much shorter or... More
