Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

This is at its core one of the fair/carnival staples of going in a circle, but the difference is that this is Dumbo! You have to ride it and you have to just think back to the movie as a kid (and hopefully have either a like minded person or a young kid to spare with you - I happened to have the latter). My 7 year old still enjoyed the ride mainly due to the control of how high you fly based on pushing and pulling on the joystick in the Dumbo. She had us at full height ASAP and stayed there. If you need some stomach churning drops, then just close your eyes and let the other person drive... This is one of the longer lines in Fantasyland, so prepare to do some standing, but it was pretty much all covered areas.

The Dumbo ride at Disneyland was one of the earliest rides in the park. The ride was based on the Disney film released in 1941. It was not ready on the opening day, but opened a month later.
Over the past 65 years, the carousel-like ride has been updated and redesigned, painted a different color and moved.
There are currently 16 Dumbo vehicles that rotate counterclockwise at a constant speed attached to a hydraulic arm. A joystick that allows the riders to raise and lower the vehicle as it rotates.
Grandparents and parents will enjoy this ride if they experience it with a younger pre-teen family member.

We don't have much luck getting on this ride when we come to Disneyland. It is either too long of a wait or broke down. As this is the case with most of the classic rides in Fantasyland, it is still worth it to go at least once during your visit. On our last visit, they had improved the lines with canopies to stand under, while expanding the line route. It is so much better.

Some people complain that "all this ride does is spin." If you think about it, this classic spinning style ride is exactly the kind of ride Dumbo would have in his environment (being in a traveling circus). I personally find this classic ride to be very charming, extremely well decorated, and gives it's riders a form of independent control that other rides in Disneyland simply do not have. All ages will love this ride, as long as they understand the context.

Dumbo is similar to Astro Orbitor in that it goes up and around and you get to steer the Dumbo you are in. From up high, it is a great view of the carousel. Highly recommend!

You have to ride Dumbo as its just so classic, but actually it was a more enjoyable ride than I was expecting! There's a reasonable g-force from going around and the up/down control adds interest.

We went in early entry when there was no queue.

We ride this ride because it reminds of the days when the kids were younger and cute! They love going up and down!

This was the first ride we did with my almost 2 year old and he loved it. Its a simple classic Disneyland ride but one that is fun for all ages. Highly recommend this ride to anyone and everyone!

My friends thought it would be fun to ride the Dumbo the flying elephant ride and convinced us. Thankfully they were right. It was nostalgic fun. This isn't a thrill ride at all but is a classic ride that dates back to the opening of the park.

This ride is a must do, as it's an original Disneyland ride, and what's more there's nothing not to enjoy about it! Good fun for all.
