For the cost, my partner and i were very disappointed. 30 mins was a safety and ‘how - to’ briefing, and the rest was ‘in air’ for 30ish mins. Instructors mumbled and seemed to get annoyed when things didn’t run smoothly as people were still learning. My mic / headset went out and couldn't hear, and they seemed frustrated by this. You just sit in a box that resembles a plane, and use two control sticks to slow and speed up the plane, and choose direction. imo lots of better things to do around the area then spend the money on this. little kids may enjoy though.

My wife and I had planned a trip to Disneyland to celebrate out 50th birthdays. When I discovered Flight Deck simulators was right around the corner, I had to check it out. The whole process was easy from reservations to how the professional crew was upon my arrival. The instruction was great and gave me the tools to have a successful simulator experience. ext time in in souther California I will definitely be back, Great job Flight Deck!

The 737 flight sim was great and so was the flight instructor. The older man at the counter was unprofessional and extremely rude. It was shocking that he would yell at customers for no reason. Nearly ruined the experience for me.

Our 19 year old son (with special needs) loves flying. This experience was phenomenal for him. His instructor, Grace, was fabulous. She went above and beyond and our son was able to do 3 landings. Our son usually has a short attention span. He was engaged and loved the whole 1 hour experience. Highly recommend!!

Our 14 year old who is thinking about a career in aviation, loved the 737 flight. He was super stoked and you know how teens can be. He said that was the best part of our trip. I found this on a last minute google search for things to do with a teen in SoCal. Glad we stumbled upon it and was able to sign up at the last minute.

Okay then. Strap in, tighten your helmet and get ready for a ride. I know a little place in Anaheim that’s gonna make your wish come true—and rock your world, buddy.

My arrival at Flightdeck Air Combat Center did not exactly prepare me for the afternoon ahead. The place is situated in an industrial park down the street from Angel stadium, which is about as visually exciting as that sounds. And then I opened the door.
Within seconds, I was transported from my relatively mundane modern world of hybrid vehicles, strip malls, cell phones, emails and freeways to a parallel universe and a new identity-- and let's be honest, 98% of all males, and not a small number of females reading this have fantasized about this world and this identity all their lives, and some are lucky enough to have lived it... This day, I was a fighter pilot, baby.

The most important part of this experience IS the experience. Nothing is left out, and your "other world" fades very quickly. You're met by a duty officer in flight suit, and the first thing you do is put one on yourself. None of this day-off shorts and tee shirt and flops stuff, with your cell phone on your belt (can you picture Chuck Yeager saddling up like that? I don't think so. ). Your flight suit and the squawking of the control tower, even the standard issue military paint job on the walls tell you you’re in a whole different world today.

Time for pre-flight briefing. And you’d better listen up so you can learn your aircraft and get functional in its basic operation. If you're thinking this is like a computer game with mouse and joystick, forget it. This is the real deal. And I must tell you, I was completely intimidated listening to the blizzard of information at first-- data, maneuvers, and the mission and conditions report, I mean, I've never even been in a civilian cockpit before, much less a front-line fighter jet!!!! My instructor smiled and told me to relax. "I'm your Eye in the Sky, Ace. I'll be with you all the way."

And then you mount up. A Crewman sees you up the ladder, into your cockpit, reviews the controls for you once again, and closes the canopy. And you are in utter silence, staring at the taxiway. And then the engine starts, and your instructor, your flight controller is in your head, just like he promised, and your whole squadron checks in as they line up on the runway, and you all get your clearance to roll down the runway side by side, and that seat starts to rumble as you push the throttle forward and pull the stick back and the wheels come off the ground...

You’re flying the finest machines ever made. No dinky little computer monitors with twenty other wannabees spread around the room like it was a cheap arcade. You are the pointy edge of the spear, soloing in a high performance fighter. You're in the air. and you've got a mission. Your wing man is watching your six and your squadron is counting on you.

An F-18 Hornet going 450 a hundred feet off the deck makes your Hybrid in the parking lot a pitiful ride indeed. But you'll need it…. Because, you'll be back.

We drove out to california from arizona and flight deck was supposed to be our first attraction after checking into the hotel. I was so excited for the air combat experiance until of course we got there. After paying over 200dollars for three of us to get in the place we went to our briefing and were guided into our cockpits. I was very dissapointed with the expericance because it was basically microsoft flight simulator in a big plastic cockpit that doesn't move or do a thing with. A projector screen in front of you. We flew and I was boared within ten minutes. Allong with my fourteen year old brother and my mother. I was almost tempted to tell the employees to get me out of that thing and give my money back. I could have played the same simulator at home on my computer with my joystick minus the fake plastic cockpit and the low resolution projection of the game in front of me. I stuck it out and stayed for the entire hour of flight time. I couldn't belive they lied and made this attraction to be some kind of excellent simulator. Better luck going and dropping 200 dollars in an arcade for a couple hours and have a blast! I do not do not do not reccomend anybody waste their money with this cheap business decieving their customers into thinking this place is nice. Might be a good experiance for piolets to train themselves with taking off and landing to get some practice in. Other than that they should not even be in business. I regret giving this place my money for an obsurd time.

After reading all the rave reviews, I believed this to be an experience not to be missed while visiting the area. But it turned out to be very complicated and I wish I hadn't spent the money. First off, we had a super fast classroom briefing, where we were to learn about the basic control of the aircraft. Then we had 10 minutes of "practice" time while in the cockpit, which was not enough time. Then we were "thrown into combat" with the other pilots. Some of them had previous experience, and we were just targets getting shot down again and again.

It would have been better to have had some "one on one" instructor time, while we were practicing in the cockpit. Maybe you can request this and your experience will be better. and the communications between the other pilots can be heard by all... this is distracting sometimes as you never really know if someone is talking to you specifically.

Side notes:
DO NOT press the foot pedals. They didn't tell us this, until we were making mistakes in the air (wasting time).
DO NOT do more than the briefest flight on your first experience, unless you have some basic flying experience. The 70min flight time is the most popular, but the extra time was a waste of money for beginners.
DO NOT expect the cockpit to move. You are completely stationary and you watch a screen in front of you. The image on the screen rotates as you move your controls. This makes it very difficult to get a feeling of how you are controlling the aircraft if you don't actually move!

Positive points: It was fun to "dress up" in the jump suit and helmet. The "landings" were fun, but you only get one chance... so if you "almost get it", you can't try again.

Wow,
The entire experience from the suit up, to the briefing, to the take off. It was great. Then, the dog fight! I will never forget the control tower in my ear saying "Stay with him 3". You have to try it. "That's an order!"

July 2013 • Friends
I intially came here as a Christmas present in 2012. I had a great time then.

I came back for a portion of my Bachelor party earlier in July.
They'd moved buildings and updated the space.

We had a blast. All my buddies loved it.
We were talking smack and pwning each other. I can't say this enough, that its worth it! I can't wait to go back...
