This is a fun spot to bring the family for a picnic on a hot day. The beach might be okay for wading, but I don't think I'd swim here. The water isn't dirty, but the San Francisco Bay just isn't a great swimming spot.

Beautiful view of SF. BBQs and picnic tables available, first-come-first serve in one section. Closer to Crab Cove, areas can be reserved in advance w/capacity of at least 200 per site.

This is the best place ever, I am from Nevada but our son n law , daughter and granddaughter told us about this place the best sandwiches ever and will always go back when we can get that vacation . Go early because once those famous sandwiches are gone for that day they are gone.

I took 6 kids to the beach, as we got there the tide was going down so slowly were able to walk in and get our feet wet. So check the tide before you go.

Took my grandkids to this beach area and they actually found some small crabs and other fun things.. Nice safe beach area. Close to Crab Cove center.

It's a bit surprising to find a place with such a peaceful small town feel hidden between busy airport, port and two busy cities (San Francisco and Oakland). Alameda also has mild weather, so when it gets really hot in East Bay - this is a nice place to go to. It's very family friendly.

Crab Cove is one of the smaller of the fabulous East Bay Regional Parks - there are, I believe, 26 of them - but has a nice visitors Center, excellent naturalists, good programs, especially for kids, and a location right on the Oakland Estuary. There are nature walks and tide pools naturalist led events. Crab Cove also sponsors a summer... More

My family and I moved to Alameda just about 2 years ago and even though the island is relatively small, we're still discovering wonderful places. Crab Cove just makes one proud to live on the island because it's a bit surreal that we have such a beautiful spot. On a sunny, light breezy day, this spot is probably just as... More

I love Crab Cove! It's a beauty of a spot, both in terms of the grassy areas and picnic benches, and in terms of the beach and the water. Last Labor Day we got there early in the morning in order to hold one of the picnic spots (you can't reserve most of them ahead of time). It was such... More

If you would ask anyone living in Alameda, CA how to get to Crab Cove, there would be no hesitation. Crab Cove, is off a very busy Street (Webster) but once, one turns in to the road leading to the Cove, except for the sounds of the birds and the chatter of the visitors, it is a calm and lovely...
