I take a grandchild to the playground sometimes. He usually meets a friend and they have a great time playing on things not usual in most playgrounds. They can climb, dig, and run around . We often take lunch as there are tables there. Rest rooms are just a short walk away,

At this point it is a decent place to go for a walk. Looks like they are adding more as they go along in terms of making it more than a walk through the typical southern Alabama pine tree forest.

Stopped in Auburn to look at AUs graduate program and went here for a walk. The trails were extremely well marked and blazed so that two people could walk comfortably next to each other. One of the best parts was the opening by the power lines where they have a shelter and a deer feeder. Unfortunately we unknowingly scared the... More

Enjoyed a beautiful morning in this great outdoor space surrounded by nature and the gift of silence save for a few rustling leaves .....nice playground made up of ecologically friendly structures which were enjoyed by our two year old gran daughter while several of us hiked. The Fairy Garden was simply delightful and as we hiked we gathered materials to... More

What a great place, close to campus for a walk. Great hiking trails with a creek, lots of shade in the summer and lots of feel good nature all around.

The Ecology Preserve is absolutely fantastic. It is gorgeous and very well-maintained. The trails are great, and the playground is a huge hit with younger kids. They regularly have programs and camps that are always good. Members can book the pavilion and a short animal program (with live animals) for birthday parties. There's also a fantastic fire ring and amphitheater.... More

The Kreher Forest is a jewel of the Auburn University School of Forestry and Wildlife Science's crown. Both for solitary and group exploration are options for initial and return visits. It's a natural playground for young and old alike.

The Preserve is a huge wooded wonderland with trails, a waterfall, a natural playground and other surprises. A great place to spend time- a 30 minute playground visit or a couple of hours of hiking. No dogs allowed (important for the wildlife who call this place home). Nice and shady in the hot summer months!
