Would not have known about this place except that found a brochure when we stopped at the Alabama visitor center on I 85 for a rest break and a break from the driving rain. Rolled on down the road to the Auburn exit, found the...More

The new hiking and bike trails are a hidden gem at Chewacla. Convenient access from I-85 but within 3 miles of AU Campus plus camping space.

If you are in Auburn and looking for a pretty park for hiking, this place is lovely. The trails were well labeled and maintained. The waterfall and little mini canyon below it were very pretty. I saw deer, lots of birds, chipmunks, squirrels and lovely...More

Clean and nice enough with plenty of well marked trails. Diving board also looked fun. It does cost per person to get into the park.

Take a little time to get away from it all. This park is excellent for hiking and mountain biking and there is a waterfall to boot! What a lovely place to spend a few hours or a weekend.

We has some time to kill so we went to the park. The $4 per person admission was well worth it. We hike several trails, including the waterfall trail. You can swim or fish in the lake and there is plenty of camping available.
