We live north of Atlanta and are always looking for interesting new places to take the kids. This museum is only two hours away, so we went to try it out, and were so pleasantly surprised at the quality! Very educational exhibits about animals and other topics, and the kids really enjoyed it.

Living nearby, I have been there 15-20 times. There are hiking trails, an outside bird sanctuary, outside and inside botanical gardens (fantastic in the Spring and Summer), a nice duck/turtle pond with picnic area, next to the very interesting Berman Museum of World History, not to mention the well laid out Museum of Natural History. The exhibits are wonderful and... More

We took our kids here during the weekend, it's simply amazing. The staff are extremely friendly and helpful. The museum has a little bit of everything dealing with natural history. Lots of hands on activities for the kids and adults :P

Plenty of birds and interesting rocks and gems. I personally enjoy the Egyptian exhibits, the mummies are fascinating. The plants and flowers that they have are also a nice addition. This museum is definitely diamond in the rough. My nephew really enjoys coming here and then popping over to the Berman History museum next door.

I had long known that there was a Natural History museum in Anniston but the opportunity to stop there had not happened. Located about six miles north of I 20, this is a worthy site to visit. The highlights here include information on the geography and geology of Alabama. This included a taste of walking through a cave. There is... More

We went to this Museum because we were in the area and wanted to pass the time. What a wonderful surprise. The size of the place is very misleading. I would have never thought it was as large as it was. It started out with lots of rocks and minerals and I thought kids would get bored. But then we... More
