Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

This is a neighborhood place to go, walk around and enjoy the nice weather. Not really worthy of a visit as a tourist.

On my way to Congressional Cemetery, I stop at the park. It is nicely located not far from Capital Hill neighborhood and Eastern Market neighborhood. A nice piece of land with trees and spaces for dogs kids and local nannies. Good looking park but not very well maintain. If you are in the area and need a nice big space to walk around or to sit around, this can be your spot. If you are in D.C. for other reasons and have full schedules of things to see, you can skip the park with no regrets.

As we were walking through Washington looking for a coffee shop we stumbled upon Lincoln Park. As with any big park there’s not much there really apart from a statue of Lincoln. Not particularly interesting unless you’re with children who need a run around in an open space.

This small the but charming park is the centerpiece of this Capitol Hill community. It’s a place where dogs play, families have children’s birthdays, and runners enjoy their daily stretch.

Did you know that Lincoln Park, which Pierre Charles L'Enfant included in his original 1791 plan for the District of Columbia, was intended to be the point from which all distances in North America would be measured? Ultimately, it wasn't utilized for that purpose. However, it is the largest Capitol Hill Park and is a popular destination for joggers, bikers, young children, parents pushing strollers and neighborhood dogs with their owners. Situated directly east of the United States Capitol, on East Capitol and 11th Street in the northeastern quadrant of the city, Lincoln Park was the site of a hospital during the Civil War. In 1867, after Lincoln's assassination, Congress authorized the grounds to be a memorial, the first public site to bear Lincoln's name. It features monuments to two of the nation's greatest leaders, Lincoln and Civil Rights Activist and educator Mary McLeod Bethune. The Lincoln statue was unveiled in 1876 with Frederick Douglass delivering the keynote address before President Ulysses S. Grant. The Bethune statue was unveiled in 1974, the first monument to honor a black woman in a public park in the District of Columbia.

We stayed in a vacation rental directly across the street from Lincoln Park while we were in DC. I loved seeing how active the park was each day - parents pushing strollers, people tossing a ball, playing fetch with their dogs, biking around the perimeter, jogging, toddlers running. It was great! There's even a playground at one end. Our kids enjoyed running around the park too. And the statue of Lincoln emancipating a slave was neat to see - that statue was the original memorial to Lincoln before the larger one was created. The Lincoln Park/Capitol Hill area was a very nice place to stay!

A lovely place but not much to do. Have your expectation low and you'll find it interesting. Must be more beautiful in warmer seasons.

More of a dog park as it has a large dog area. My young girls were not impressed with the playground area. But overall it's a very safe and friendly park. Sit and read or walk/ run it's nice.

Seems like it is a popular place for dog owners to take their four legged friends here.
The park isn't very large, however it is still nice and peaceful with only limited amounts of traffic on the roads surrounding the park.

There's tons of grass and big shade trees. It's perfect for running around with your dog or the kids or both. It would be just like any other large park except there are a couple of giant statues in it.
