Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Really lovely staff. The lady bartender ( forgot her name ( was cheerful, efficient and gave us spot on tips for restaurants in DC. The beers were good and numerous board games on offer.

This is one of those places with a bar and plenty of board games for entertainment. I’ve been to a few of these, and this is by far the nicest. The bar is cozy and comfortable. Beth the bartender was very very welcoming. The drinks were good. I had a boozy hot chocolate and loved it. The crowd featured a few folks on dates and several tables of friends. All reasonably socially distant. This is a welcoming place and a great place to spend a few hours with friends or meeting new friends.

Recently I was searching for a nice place for a drink or two before going to class. What a nice place in the heart of north DuPont circle. It is located on Connecticut Ave near Florida Ave. Don’t come here hungry though (unless you carry your own food or order from near by places). Week days happy hours are the best time to find places to sit especially at the bar.

The board games are the draw. The beer selection isn’t bad, isn’t great. Food is decent bar fare. It’s all about the games. You can play battleship! Small rental fee. I think you can bring your own as well. I think Big Hunt is the better Connecticut Ave bar in DuPont but if you really like games you might prefer Board Room.

We came here after dinner to hang out as a couple. There is definitely a younger crowd here, but we didn't let that stop us. We "rented" our game and found a seat on the second floor. The upper floor bar was closed, but we could order drinks at the lower bar and bring them upstairs. The bar is very basic as far as services. You can get drinks, but not food and there is only one bathroom on the second floor so prepare to wait. The bar allows you to bring food in from outside which is a plus if you're hungry. Had a great time and love the premise behind this place as you watched everyone just having fun playing board games. Great time!

We were staying locally at the Washington Hilton and were looking for a good bar walking distance. Stumbled upon this place on google maps. When going to find the bar found it was almost unnoticeable from the street. Walking past you would think it’s a shop.
But once inside really enjoyed their great happy hour and friendly staff.
They didn’t seem to do food but then all the regulars seemed to bring in take aways from other local eateries with no probs.
Seemed very popular with groups of people all playing board games. We were there just to drink and relax. Had plenty of big screens showing lots of live sport. Enjoyed so much, we visited 3 nights in a row.

Great stop on our trip to play a few games. Friendly staff with a youthful vibe. We would make this a regular stop if we lived in the area.

Good choice of happy hour drinks which are well priced for DC. This bar must have largest choice of board games in the world. Staff very friendly and helpful

This place was awesome. $2 to play a board games at a bar. At first I was a little self conscious about playing at the bar itself, as there are lots of tables, but it ended up being great. They had a decent selection of games. The noise level was normal (so nice!).The bar tenders were really nice, the drinks were interesting and fun, the beer selection was good, and they even changed the tv to the dodger/ giant game for us. I assumed it would be groups of people, which it was, but there were a surprising number of couples at the bar. Also, not everyone was playing board games, so you could just go there to hang out and actually hear your friends talking. We'll be back. (oh, they have NO FOOD except baggies of pretzels, so go eat a huge lunch/dinner somewhere, and then go here after.)

I have a friend who takes over two hours to get ready, so while we waited, we circled the block in Dupont Circle and happened to see that this place served my husband's favorite beer, so we stopped in. What a pleasant experience and a very cool concept! The door man checking IDs also cleaned a table off for us, and complimented my friend's outfit, too! Very clean inside, eclectic mix of people. We really enjoyed ourselves!
