D.C. Improv is one of the top 2 comedy clubs I have been to in this area, NYC, Chicago (including second city), Baltimore, and Boston. That said, you need to know that comedy clubs are not "high brow" fancy places. But they are all pretty standard. You get 1 1/2 to 2 hours of comedy by 3 people (usually). If... More

I was in DC for a girls' weekend and we bought advance tickets for the late (9:45pm) show on Saturday night. The venue is what you would expect for a comedy club. The club is located in the basement, not sure if there is an elevator. The evening show is not suitable for families with young children. Go to the... More

My wife and I attended a show on a Friday evening in December and had a good time. Luckily we had dinner prior to the show or it might have been a different story! The venue is as you would expect for a comedy club, kinda dingy and dark. A little cramped but it was not packed so we had... More

I took my adult children to the club (as I have done before); however, the last visit was very disturbing in that the primary comedian talked at length in very crude terms about relatively " kinky" sexual practices. (When I said what, Tripadviser would not print my first review; therefore, I had to "clean up " my review and not... More

We had the opportunity to see a live improv show recently in DC. I do not remember the name of the comedian who appreared first but she was pretty humerous as an opening act before Arsenio. We liked the show and seeing the ELECTION had just happened he was pretty unbiased BUT the audience definitely leaned left. It was a... More

This is the first comedy club/caberet type place that had very good food - a notch above typical bar good. Servers were professional, friendly, and in a venue like this -- really took their cues from the entertainment to not be intrusive. Go have fun and laugh!

What saved this review was the service and friendliness of the staff. Otherwise the headliner was hilarious. Seating is very cramped, so be prepared to sit very close to everyone. The location is downstairs in a basement setting, so if you are not able to use stairs be prepared for some challenges with finding an elevator. Food was the basic... More

After many years in DC - finally went with friends for a Birthday night out. Very inexpensive unless you go all out with food and drinks. Good comedians. Raunchy, topical, and good humor as one would expect. Get there early. It's open seating for the exact number of chairs in the room.

We were in town for Labor Day weekend and decided to head to DC Improv. The comedians were absolutely amazing and we laughed most of the night. The door price wasn't too bad but the two drink/food minimum per person was a little much. They use the most of every single inch of the table and chair place so going... More
