Muslim temple, foreigners welcome.

Experience of entering a mosque ... Women need to cover their heads (scarves available at the secretariat). Very interesting address on the Embassy Avenue. 5 minutes visit if you are not going to pray.

Visitors to Mosque Disrespect Neighbors

The mosque attracts many taxi drivers who take up neighborhood parking, litter, block driveways, and occasionally urinate in the shrubbery. The mosque itself is beautiful but needs better management to improve neighborhood relations.

Beautiful mosque. Hard to find parking especially around prayers times but have to find in the streets nearby. Beautiful from inside, neat and well kept.

Beautiful and inspiring house of worship.

You can't miss the beautiful minaret rising in the air while driving down Embassy Row on Massachusetts Ave. The Islamic Mosque and Cultural Center in DC is a beautiful house of worship for the Islamic faithful. My partner and I visited the site to take in the architecture and take a quick peak inside. Everyone we met was very friendly and inviting. In keeping with Islamic standards, the interior is austere and void of any art or statues. Highly recommended for the curious passerby'ers.

A must see for the interior architecture and design

Getting a bit worn, but the interior of this mosque is incredibly decorated in arabesque and Turkish motifs with blue tiles. Incredible arches and interior lighting and stained glass windows.

This is a beautiful building, truly lovely. But ladies be aware that you must not show any part of your leg, arm, or head. They have things for your to wear if you don't have enough coverage, however. It surprised me because even in the mosques in Turkey, you only need the head covering.

Grand

I went here since we where in the area for the embassies (which the entire area is just beautiful with greenery, luxury cars, and buildings). This mosque caught my attention on the way down for its architecture and I made a spot by going in to check it out. It was grand. I use to go to mosques in Toronto with my mother at a very young age and even though they looked grand on the outside sometimes they where not so grand on the inside. This one was really something else. I have not been outside of North America as I know mosques in Western Asia and South Asia are common to be like this one so with that in mind this is the best mosque I have seen in North America from the few I have gone into.

Cultural experience
May 2014 • Friends
During the European Union Embassies Open House we visited the mosque. They organized a small food and souvenirs market. They had several food stalls with food from around the world, namely Pakistan, India, Sudan... We tasted samosas and a biriani from Bangladesh. Both were terrific, very tasty and cheap ($2 samosas and $5 biriani).
It was a great cultural experience. I really appreciated it.
My friends went to the mosque. They told us that it is a very modern construction. It's not so detailed like the old ones.
Overral I recommend it. I would like to go there again to more events like this one.
