When visiting Washington, DC, the days can easily become very busy in an effort to take in all the sights, but the simplicity of the river cruise experience to Mount Vernon made for a relaxing trip. It was our most enjoyable day while there.

My Husband took me on a lunch cruise for my 56th birthday. Had a very nice time. Food was sort of brunch style and very nice. We spent some time on the top observation desk which was cool. My only complaint was we waited for a wedding party that was late because of not being able to find parking. Other... More

The cruise itself was fun , interesting to see places from Potomac River. I only wish more time was allowed at Mt Vernon. You're dropped off at the back of Mt Vernon about 10:00am . You need to be back on ship by 1:15. I would suggest starting from entrance if you want more time in the educational area for... More

We visited family and friends from London and when faced with the idea of what to do for New Year's Eve celebrations, the Spirit of Washington came to the top of the list. Since we had a range of ages in the group of fourteen, ranging from mid-20's to (a young) 81, we did not want to take any changes.... More

I took a Thanksgiving Lunch Cruise with my family down the Potomac River. The ship was nicely decorated, elegant table setting (white linen, glasses, the works), friendly staff, excellent food (plenty of it -- buffet), and wonderful atmosphere. Very pleasant ride down the Potomac. Scenic/tourist highlights provided. Things for kids to do -- many were on the dance floor, plus... More

It was really fun, nice music of all kind and from everywhere (actually could ask the DJ for what you wanted!), great staff, amicable, knowledgeable and professional. Also kudos to the chef, the food was delicious.

The food was good, not great, the desserts were average. The dinner cruise for two adults $225...,$45-50 administrative fee added to the initial $85 per person cost, not disclosed until checking out for payment. When we cruised, a large group gathered around and stood at the bar all night, and never sat or ate dinner, wearing khakis, jeans, hoodies with... More

We took the Spirit of Washington on a rather chilly Saturday evening. First, we did not leave on time. We left about 25 minutes late. The food, wasn't great. The best thing for me was the desserts. They did not have any tea bags, they ran out. The DJ was good as was our server, Sharday. I actually found all... More

Took the Spirit cruise down the Potomac river to Mt Vernon. Went on Columbus day in October and the boat was only about 30% full. The boat ride was very nice, about 1.5 hours each way. The price of the cruise includes admission to Mr Vernon and a tour of the house, which was a good value. On the way... More

This is the only way to travel to George Washington's Mount Vernon. A Leisurely cruise down the Potomac river with the sun shinning, fantastic.
