An imposing cathedral. The outside is very impressive but I enjoyed the interior more. The stained glass windows are fantastic. Don't look for the ones in honor of Robert E. Lee and Stonewall Jackson as they were removed.

This Cathedral is absolutely beautiful. We went to Sunday service when we were there. It just happened to be the 50 year anniversary of Martin Luther King’s sermon he preached 4 days before he was killed. Not only did we here the sermon, they found...More

Visited the cathedral with a high school group. Tour guides were okay; would love to just explore the place on my own, but I understand that it is a “working” church. The stain glass windows are amazing. If you want to see a cathedral but...More

The reviews about the outstanding art and architecture, as well as the history are all correct. We were there for a secular concert, and were blown away by the setting and the sound. The acoustics are quite unique and beautiful. They offer tons of Christian...More

We attended the 9am service here during a weekend trip to DC. This is a beautiful cathedral and the people were very welcoming. Glad we attended a service and didn’t just come as a tourist.

We visited the cathedral as chaperones on our son's school trip. We were amazed at the beauty of all the stained glass windows and other architectural designs, carvings and beautifully designed doors.

one of the best things about DC. Try to be there for a service- be a part of it, not just a tourist.

They require payment for you to enter a church? One tour were not asked. I guess it depends on whom is working or who is visiting?

I don't know if there's a bad seat in the house, at least when the organ is being played. The pipes are at the front, but the horns are in the rear – and it's the most amazing organ I've ever heard in person. However, if... More
