I had no idea this was on our trolley tour. I stopped off and snapped some great shots of the exterior. I paid the $12 to go inside. such a treasure. Got looks of amazing photos and spent way to much at the gift shop ! A must see for DC trip.

This is a wonderfful, though slightly odd, cathedral. It looks and feels as an old building, while it was built the previous century - hence the Darth Vader gargoyle and such. Great views of the city.

This place is absolutely breath taking! We visited last year on Easter Sunday. We did have to purchase tickets in advance to guarantee seating. The cost was minimal at $3 a ticket and it went to the Church so we didn't mind to pay. The service was beautiful and different for us (we are not Catholic) But I wanted my... More

The Cathedral is large and worth a visit if you haven't been to many European cathedrals it's a great example. There is one standout that sets it apart from all others. Darth Vader is one of the gargoyles on the backside of the left tower if facing the main front entrance to the cathedral. bring binoculars.

It took more than a century to build, and this Washington icon is worth the trip. Currently undergoing some repairs for damage sustained during the 2011 earthquake, the Cathedral is open, and volunteer docents are on hand to guide you through the amazing stories and characters - the beautiful rose windows; the stained glass window with a piece of the... The church was a great surprise. While we expected it to be pretty we were stunned by its beauty. I've been to Notre Dame cathedral and found this more beautiful. You can tour quite a bit of this and it is truly massive. We spent several hours walking around. You may want to check the web site before you go... More

Getting there was half the fun as we drove up embassy row with all the different foreign embassies. THe Cathedral architecture was simply beautiful and stunning. We were lucky enough to hear the organ during a tour and it was awesome. We walked around the entire building and checked out all the nooks and crannies. It was well worth the... More

People! You will definitely be awed, inspired at this structure! This building was constructed, with sweat, and more sweat. A tornado, ripped some spires off, and to see them on the ground, unmovable, by 20 of the strongest bodies, it is amazing.

This beautiful church is filled with fantastic and brightly colored stained glass windows. This historic church has lovely chapels and it is so peaceful that an hour passes quickly there are even gift shops. There is parking near by so visiting is easy, this is a must see place in DC when you visit.

We have an exchange student each year and make this one of our "must see" stops. This year we happened to be in town actually on Christmas Day, so scheduled ourselves to see the special Christmas organ recital. We were so inspired and met a German family to share some stories with of our three German boys over the years.... More
