The Capitol is among the most architecturally impressive and symbolically important buildings in the world. The Senate and the House of Representatives have met here for more than two centuries. Begun in 1793, the Capitol has been built, burnt, rebuilt, extended, and restored; today, it stands as a monument not only to its builders but also to the American people and their government.

Very important part of any trip to DC. It is our history. Reserve your tour ahead of time and allow yourself a morning or afternoon to learn about what others have sacrificed for.

This was scheduled months in advance just to be sure we would get in during Easter Week. It did not disappoint. Tour guide was outstanding. Have to get special permission to sit in on House or Senate proceedings. Rotunda very interisting—find the “whisper” spot.

Since we were not American citizens, nor did we have a representative to give us an inside peek, we did the next best thing -stood outside the building and took selfies

Impressive building to say the least. You have to go see it during the day and at night also when it is lit up. It's amazing to look up at this massive structure and think that this is where our laws have been made for...More

Honestly amazing. When you're in there you can't help but be absolutely awed. A must-go whether you're from the US or not (I am a non-US tourist).

Just walking around the outside is awe inspiring but inside the rotunda is breathtaking and the statues inspiring. Go to your congressman's office and get a ticket to the gallery when congress is in secession.

One must do a tour here. Lot of walking around but worth it. Amazing view from outside of Capital Hill.
