We took a tour of the Capital Building. It's such a shame that the outside is covered in scaffolding and most of the interior of the dome is covered in fabric. However, we still enjoyed our tour. Our guide was energetic and informative. We saw many statues and could glimpse through scaffolding to see the paintings located in the dome.... More

This area was impressive. We walked it and enjoyed seeing all the sights. The grounds could have been kept better.

I am not happy with politicians, but I think all citizens should visit their Capital. The US Capital is a great place, and worthy of a stop, a visit to your Representative or Senator.

We were also toured through our congressman's office by scheduling through them in advance. Another free tour but this time we saw the actual chambers of the original senate, house and judicial branch. Hordes of history, paintings, architecture and statues. A true walk down history for the Anerican government.

After going down into the visitor center you realize you can't go anywhere near the building without a guide, and the tours are reserved in advance or there is a huge line. We didn't feel like waiting 2+ hours for a 1 hour tour.

So much construction going on, you can only see a small section of the rotunda ceiling , the artwork is all covered up with scaffolding. Couldn't go into the chamber at all.. pretty much limited to the statue room and seeing everything covered up ( I get it , it needs to be done) I am sure it is beautiful... More

I love the tour of the Capitol building! It doesn't look quite as impressive right now because of the scaffolding outside on the rotunda but still an amazing place to visit.

Really well organised guided tour and very interesting to see how American government works compared to the UK. It is undergoing maintenance until Sept 16, so you cannot really see the domed ceiling inside
