This long walk across the "Mall" covers all the major monuments of Washington. It goes from the Lincoln Memorial to the Capitol, and passes by the Washington Monument, the gardens, the reflecting pool and it borders other monuments, like the ones to the World War II and the Korean War, the Vietnam Memorial and other sites. The best way of... More

I've seen so much these last days I am lost for what to say. What a city and well worth the walk to take it all in. Impressive and so much to see and look at. Great views, wide avenues and things to visit to suit all interests. Incredible.

The impressive views of national monuments and the unique collections of our history in the museums makes this a visit that everyone should have some time in their lives. The Capitol over the landscape gives it an air of our unique heritage, and the museums hold more treasures than anyone can possibly cover entirely no matter how long your stay.... More

We walked along the National mall from the Washington Monument to the Lincoln Memorial. Stopped to observe the world War II Memorial, not a difficult walk because it's flat but by the time you reach Lincoln Memorial you might not have the energy to climb the stairs. The Vietnam memorial is close by as well.

It requires a lot of walking. The city circulator can take you from one place to the other for $1. Hard to walk in windy and cold conditions

Walking the mall is one of the best things to do in DC. It is such a beautiful area, the expanse of green surrounded by the museums, gardens, monuments and the Capitol. Not to mention a great place to people watch or take a run. The merry go round is a great place for kids, or to be a kid.

This was a highlight for us. Standing in the middle of the Mall with the Capitol building at one end and the Lincoln Memorial at the other - and all the museums and monuments surrounding it. Was just great to be stand there and have so much history accessible. Must do.

I forgot the vastness of this space and the history that surrounds it. From the US Capitol to the Lincoln Memorial, you will be humbled and reminded of what our democracy stands for.
