I love water, so even when hubby and I visited here in October, this place was still beautiful. Nice place to stroll around especially as the sun sets.

The Tidal Basin’s are great and safe walking areas in our Nation’s Capital, though the time of year you visit matters. The best time is the spring, March and April. The summer can be very hot and oppressive. The fall is nice, but does not...More

The Tidal Basin offers a beautiful breath of fresh air from the torrid of emotions you feel visiting this historical epicentre. It is a sublime place to spend time walking around and taking a break from the inspirational memorials that surround you.

The Tidal Basin is by far my favorite place to go for a walk, run or de-stress in DC. It offers a beautiful view of the monument, the Jefferson Memorial and is especially beautiful during the spring time when the cherry blossoms come out.

It is open 24 hours. There are no gates, no fences. It's particularly pleasant in the evening. During the day, there are paddle boats to rent. Otherwise, it's an open area where you can also visit the monuments around the... More
